About
The name Bear the Movement carries a double meaning, "bear," the verb, meaning to carry and endure, and Bear, Jimmy's last name in Chinese.
Our sunbear logo is a nod to where I grew up: Sarawak, Malaysia, home to the world's smallest bear species.
Every day, Jimmy will stare at the sun bear keychain souvenir he bought from a not-so-flash zoo in his hometown.
“This could be it, my logo.”
Meet Jimmy (Chien Yu) Hiung
Jimmy completed his physiotherapy studies at the University of South Australia in 2019 and has since built extensive experience treating musculoskeletal conditions.
At the heart of his approach is helping patients develop practical strategies to manage their pain and condition, building the self-efficacy to keep progressing well beyond the clinic. He also completed specialist concussion training with Concussion Education Australia, equipping him to assess and treat concussion across settings including sports, motor vehicle accidents and workplace injuries. Another big passion of his is improving the quality of life for elderly clients and helping them maintain independence at home.
Outside the clinic, Jimmy is usually found reading a book with a borrowed Kindle Unlimited subscription from his older brother, watching movies, or exercising at the gym. You can also find him deep diving into whatever's caught his interest that week.
